Optifog

Optifog

(consumer media relations)

Objective:

Generate interest in newly launched, innovative 'anti-fog' spectacle lenses.

Strategy:

Secure high-profile media coverage in glossies, nationals and key online media to create a buzz about the new product.

We developed profiles of people who are likely to be most troubled by steamed-up glasses, and have the disposable income for specialist lenses. Tailored launch materials were drafted and sold-in to specific journalists and media that focus on consumer health, beauty and sports. We also sought competition spots across online media and local radio to drive desire for the innovative lenses.

Results:

  • In-depth coverage in both the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday (including having a coveted 'Pugh' cartoon linked to the Daily Mail piece)
  • High-profile print and online coverage including: The Lady, NOW, Glamour, Closer, ITV.com, Woman's Own, Sports Sister, Yours, The Fashion Site, Yahoo.com
  • Radio competitions on local stations across the UK, from London to Newcastle and Aberdeen to Portsmouth
